Spiritual Directory in a nutshell

    

 

Article I: General Intentions

Eternal Father, in union with Jesus Christ, I give You my whole life and all my actions.

Eternal Father, I desire above all things to continue the charity of Your Divine Son on this earth.

 

Article II (A): Rising

Eternal Father, I thank you for giving me another day to continue the life of Your Divine Son on this earth.

 

Article II (B):  Meditation and Preparation for the Day

Eternal Father, I have come here to learn Your Divine Will in my regard and to ask Your grace to say in truth with Jesus, "I always do the things that please My Father."

 

Article III: The Direction of Intention

Eternal Father, give me the grace to act like Your Divine Son in this action. I offer You all the good that I may do in this action. I accept all the pain and trouble I may meet therein.

 

Article IV: The Divine Office

Eternal Father, I have come here to continue the most holy praises which Your Divine Son rendered to You when He was on this earth.

 

Article V: Holy Mass

Eternal Father, I have come here to continue the Most Holy Sacrifice of Your Divine Son.

 

Article VI: Examination of Conscience

Eternal Father, I have come here to rid myself of all that does not conform to the life of Your Divine Son.

 

Article VII: Our Meals

Eternal Father, I have come here to continue the most holy eating and drinking of Your Divine Son and His most holy mortification in regard to food and drink.

 

Article VIII: Recreation

Eternal Father, I have come here to continue the delight which Your Divine Son took in the company of others.

 

Article IX: Work and Silence

Eternal Father, I have come here to continue the laborious life of Your Divine Son in the silence of Nazareth.

 

Article X: Retiring

Eternal Father, I have come here to continue the most holy repose of Your Divine Son.

 

Article XI: Confession

Eternal Father, I have come here to continue the great hatred that Your Divine Son had for sin.

 

Article XII: Holy Communion

Eternal Father, I have come here to give myself completely to Jesus just as He gives Himself completely to me in His Sacrament of Love.
