PEACE
Peace of heart does not mean that nothing is happening, but that nothing is lacking; it does not lie in suspension of movement, but in having no need to move. (Treatise on the Love of God, Book 5, Chapter 3)

Remain in peace. God works from afar and from close by, and calls distant things to the service of those who serve him, without bringing them - absent in body present in spirit says the Apostle. Above everything else, you must procure tranquility of spirit, not only because it is the mother of contentment but because it is the daughter of the love of God. (Letters)

Occasions to practice this virtue [tranquility of spirit] crop up daily wherever we are, we will never be free of contradictions, and when they do come from others we initiate them ourselves. (Letters)
