This Pastor of Geneva is also "The Doctor of Divine Love".   The pure love of God was the very soul of his saintly personality and pastoral ministry. As his own mother observed, he always breathed the fresh air of God's love and lived by it.   His whole and entire life was an evident testimony of God's love for the neighbour, with his emphatic maxim: "Yes, all is to love, in love, for love and of love in the Church of God." He laid the solid foundation for it on the most intimate relationship of the human soul with God, by this adage: "Man is the perfection of the universe, the spirit is the perfection of man; love, that of the spirit; and charity, that of love; it is because the love of God is the end, perfection and excellence of the universe."
